Detailed information about this course:
Description
Have you ever been frustrated that evidence-based promising innovations have not been adopted and implemented in your healthcare setting? If you would like to tackle this frustration, our course is perfectly suitable for you!
In health care, promising research results or evidence-based guidelines do not automatically become standard of clinical care. Therefore, a next step, also known as implementation and dissemination, is necessary. Implementation science is the study of methods and strategies that facilitate the uptake of evidence-based research findings in healthcare settings. Within this emerging field it is crucial that professionals from medicine, nursing, psychology, pharmacy, and engineering collaborate.
In this course you will learn the theory, operational and evaluation approaches of implementation science and how to apply implementation strategies in practice.
The course includes lectures from guest speakers, best-practice case examples, and interactive sessions in which participants prepare a proposal for an implementation (research) project. The proposals will be presented on the last day.
Content
- Introduction to Implementation Science
- Frameworks and models in implementation science
- Individual and contextual influences on implementation
- Use of change strategies
- Implementation research methods & outcomes
- De-implementation
- Implementation of technological interventions
